So we've had a V60 since Nov and mainly good. Not driven that much to be honest but now with a couple of trips up to about 2,500 miles. A friend had mentioned the lack of user friendly touchscreen in reviews and I tend to agree with them now, and wondered how others find it?

- Difficult to make changes on the go to anything really - temp, aircon, radio etc.
- Find myself with the eyes off the road for too long if I'm not careful
- SatNav is a bit of a pain to use, and I'll use the app and send to the car even if sitting in the car
- Only get one route with the SatNav and difficult with the touchscreen to see where it is taking out or get an overall picture
- Previous V40 gave 3 different route options which was often ideal to see
- Boot thing is annoying as I'm always leaving it slightly up and therefore obscuring the view and have to get out and lower it.
- The pre-conditioning doesnt do a great job and you can't set it to have full blower etc.
- I think I need to get used to the Voice Control more

Apart from that it's fine. Anyone else?

Having driven a few now your comments pretty much echo my thoughts. It helped my decision to refresh my current first generation XC60, rather than get a current model.

I definitely think voice control is what you are supposed to use while driving. You can control everything with commands like "air on feet", "raise seat heat" etc

agree with all that - had mine since Nov.

Centre console is dangerous and useless in equal measure.
MPG is shocking 25ish from the T5
Auto stop kicks in before the car is at a dead stop - very bad and I turned it off

Foot thing under the boot to open works 1/10 times

had the park brake refuse to turn off a few times while in slow traffic.....sat there with hazards on trying to fix it!

After 2500 miles the mpg seems to be getting better. Overall Average is now 29.4. On a local 5-10 miler it will be about 25; on a long journey about 34-37. Auto stop seems ok, except in ECO mode it kicks in a bit early. In normal mode its fine. Not had a problem with the parking brake.

The obd data port situated above the accelerator is dangerous as i keep jamming the toe of my shoe against it when trying to get to the brake pedal quickly.
Mpg on my T5 is currently 29 average which after 3500 miles is a tad poor.
Gearboxes inability to hold on to lower gears when coasting downhill is annoying, (my previous vw with dsg would hold onto lower gears to stop the car running away with itself)
Boot cover not auto lowering is still catching me out.

That makes sense. However I don't think it would work with what I see as a loss of functionality of the new sat nav system (or simplification in marketing speak). As the number of routes it displays has reduced it doesn't give the option of my preferred route to a frequent destination. Therefore it no longer automatically updates me with traffic on my route. This is compounded by the fact you can no longer search for traffic by road number (unless voice control allows this). So the option is to swipe the navigation screen across to the destination, then if a traffic incident appears on the map try to aim and press on it's icon.

This makes it similar in functionality to the previous generation navigation with the pop-up screen and joystick on the steering wheel, at least you could keep your hands on the wheel.

I am prepared to be corrected on this, but having asking the question a few times without a positive answer.

Of course I could just behave myself and stick with the computer specified route, but there are reasons additional to the data the system has for my preferences.

I've never encountered a built-in SatNav on any vehicle that has been good enough for me to want to use.

Generally I mount my TomTom on a Brodit mount and keep the car's screen free for showing other stuff.
