Volvo S40 1.6

[swansea v6]

I have been offered a deal for my 2.5 x type, for an S40 with the 1.6 petrol engine. We already have an S80 D5 (brilliant car!) but i know nothing about the S40? It is on a 55 plate and is manual! Any experiences? i know it will be slow but just how slow after the jag? anything i should look out for???
