2010 V50 1.6D Drive E R Query

I am new to this forum, but not to PH....!

I am thinking of buying a local 2010 V50 1.6D DriveE R with about 74,000 miles, full service history, well looked after etc.

I was also considering a Golf/Audi A3, but they seem a bit dull compared to an Alfa !

I have driven the V50: all seems fine, its good to drive and handles well.
I currently have a remapped Alfa 156JTDM 150, so I was a bit concerned that the Volvo may not have enough 'grunt' for my 70 mile motorway commute, but the V50 seems fine even with the 1.6 'Ford ' diesel engine.

One of my main requirements is now fuel economy with a bit of diesel power for overtaking etc. The Alfa is great, but 38 mpg on a motorway commute is not kind to the pocket...although I do like to make "progress....!', and my Alfa has done 163,000 miles !

1) Does this Volvo have a DPF ?

2) Is the 1.6D engine responsive to a remap ?

And finally, I can probably get it for about £4800, so does that seem a fair price ?There do not seem to be many V50 1.6D DriveE R cars out there.

Any comments welcome....!
