Hi all

I am looking to buy a cheapish V50 D5 (mostly due to the reliability of this engine etc) but I'm confused by all the different trims. I understand SE Sport is the top of the range but is it worth going for over the SE? Also where does Lux fit in the range? And then you've got the R-Design... Is the 2.0D reliable enough at 100k miles to be worth a buy? My gut tells me to stick with the D5!

This model seems to tick all the asides from being the 2.0D:

The basic trim level is ES. SE and then SE lux above that.
SE lux usually has the best standard equipment eg heated seats, hi-performance audio.

The R Design models essentially contitute a bodykit and badges on top of the ES and SE models. I think the Sport designation is hangover from the pre-facelift cars and R Design replaced that badge although the official moniker has Sport tacked on to the end.
