Hi all,

Been offered a 2007 V50 2.4i petrol auto quite cheap and was wondering what the community thought about them.

Its got some service history, and has done 100k miles.

Whats the 2.4i like reliability wise?

Should i avoid and stick with a 2.0d of some description?

It won't get used a massive amount really but if its any good, i'll stick it in the fleet for the odd tip run, dog walking etc.

Thanks.

2.4i is about as robust as it gets! Just have a look at the mileages they can accumulate on Autotrader etc!

Don't get the standard 2.0D with the PSA engine. Petrol or D3, 4 or 5 will be better.

Lots of problems with the PSA engine.

Thanks.

Are the Geartronic gearboxes reasonably reliable?

I have had a quick browse on the web and there doesn't appear to be any issues it seems.

Difficult to tell on a vehicle that is 10 years old, There were some concerns over the earlier Geartronics but just make sure that there's a FSH with and the vehicle doesn't have a tow bar.

Good luck.
