hi guys, really considering a xc90 2.0d.
Had a very short drive in one with ais suspension and was really impressed.
obviously not as refined or driver focussed as a 5series or x5 but for racking up the miles in comfort i think they could be great.
Anyone owned one for a while and put big miles on it, are they reliable, are they remappable?
Would be interested in people experiences. thanks

We've had a spec'd up Momentum for 10mths. Cracking car. Amazingly good family vehicle.
Sedate driver. Go in with that attitude and accept it for a comfortable family cruiser that you don't cane to within an inch of its life and I cannot see anyone being disappointed.
They can have their electrical gremlins, but (touchwood) ours has been totally reliable.

btw, we've done something like 10k miles in ours I think.
Remappable - yes, Polestar do an upgrade. Mixed reviews on it, but many say it's how it should have been from the off. Volvo added Powerpulse to the diesel around MY17...it's meant to make a big difference, but ours doesn't have it and cruises nicely at "decent" speeds.

HI, bit worried now i've read all that on the other forum, i will do 100k in 3 years!
I'm not convinced miles are the problem...and the majority of problems you'll have read over there don't leave the car unusable from what I can see....The software has its foibles, but we've not really experienced anything material and the overall impression remains that it's a very good car
Maybe try and see if you can get an extended test drive?

got a longer drive on Friday, also driven the Disco HSE.
Anyone had experience of owning either, residual values, service running cost, i wont have much need for the off road capability of the disco. disco come with a v6 which works less hard than the 4cyl.
Disco 4 or 5?Anyone had experience of owning either, residual values, service running cost, i wont have much need for the off road capability of the disco. disco come with a v6 which works less hard than the 4cyl.
The 4 is a great car but its age tells against the XC90. It also has less boot space in 7 seat mode (but is easier to get into the 3rd row).
Don't have any experience of the Disco 5. I doubt I'd have one simply down to the way it looks
