D5 engines ...
Discussion
So after swapping the engine of a Volvo with a D5 lump that was drinking 1 litre per 100 miles with one that didn't have an oil issue it seems that Volvo like to do things differently. The new engine, well used engine appears to be slightly different in terms of exhaust camshaft design.
So if you ever replace an engine you need to be 100% sure its the right one otherwise you end up with an engine that won't start when cold and gives a fault code for throttle position implausable.
If anyone knows if exhaust cams are a simple swap or even complete heads it would be great, otherwise i'll be posting back with updates shortly !
