Touring cars were incidentally base spec 2.0 S models - I had a 2.0 20v SE Saloon and I believe the only reason the 2.0 20v engine was sold was to homlogate it for racing - The engine offered very little over the much torquier 2.5 10v - 3bhp more to be exact and actually felt slower because it needed working harder - but the noise and the way it revved made it my fave Volvo engine of them all I adored the fact you had to rev the st out of it to get it in the powerband because it just sounded so good
