I am looking for a petrol V70 but can't find any for sale newer than 2010 that are petrol powered. Is this because they are just really rare or did Volvo stop selling petrol V70's? I have seen mentions of the XC70 becoming diesel only but no references to the V70.

I like my Volvo estates. I have never found a petrol version of any of the models when buying, such as the V50, V60 and V70. However, there are some out there but are extremely rare and difficult to find. Seems that most people when buying brand new, order diesel, although there are now more petrol versions available over the last few years with the introduction of the new engines.

By that point the only petrol engined V70s would be the T5 and T6 - both are thirsty beasts and costly vehicles to run, so people generally looked towards the D5, which was a fine engine in its own right.

Although I have to agree, a petrol (T5) V70 would be a nice day to day vehicle indeed.

iirc post the mid-2010 facelift the petrol options were the T4 and T5 which were both 4 cylinder ecoboost units (1.6 and 2l respectively) and the T6 which was the Volvo SI6 engine. All are very rare, not sure I've ever seen a T4 or T5 for sale.
