xc70 rear wiper issue
Discussion
The shaft will have seized.
Remove the wiper arm itself and the retaining trim, then remove the boot lid interior trim and it's pretty well "follow your nose" (disconnect wiring, unplug water hose (it's squirted up the middle of the shaft).
It's all straightforward to dismantle and pull the arm shaft out and clean and regrease etc. You'll need torx bits.

Thanks, it was a minor seize, as I discovered when at the arm removal stage. For now wd40 is keeping it going, but your shaft removal/service recommendation is noted for when it happens again (another 150k miles hopefully).Remove the wiper arm itself and the retaining trim, then remove the boot lid interior trim and it's pretty well "follow your nose" (disconnect wiring, unplug water hose (it's squirted up the middle of the shaft).
