V90 ordered today
Discussion
First time back in a Volvo since I had a succession as company cars in the 2000's. Had a S40 T4, S60 2.0T and V70 D5. Couldn't beat them for comfort.
Many years of German car ownership has had me looking for a change, so coming out of a 520d MSport Touring into a fresh V90 D4 Inscription.
My Volvo driving friends tell me I'll be a nicer person come July when it arrives!
Went for Standard Inscription spec with a Winter Pack...... can't wait.
It'll look like this...

A lovely lovely car and what a lucky boy you are!
If I were the kind of chap to suffer from envy, I would most certainly be envious!
Such a beautiful and luxurious interior. The car is too big for me despite having two kids and two dogs, but the roads where I live are notoriously narrow and it would be a pain. I can only just cope with my v60, which is seriously scuffed and scratched. I'm hoping a new v60 will eventually appear that will be a smaller version of the 90. Fingers crossed.
Look forward to reading your review and good luck with waiting patiently!

Congratulations!
I've been on the configurator many times playing with my ideal spec. I've currently got a V70 D5 but would go for the D4 in the V90 - I don't think the extra money for a few more BHP and 4wd can be justified.
I'd definitely match you and go for the inscription spec though - lovely leather and the digital dash :-)
I can't see the picture you've posted so please tell me that you've gone for the cream/white leather with light wood trim? I think the interior looks amazingly bright and airy with the cream leather.
The only other option that I'd seriously consider is the sunroof but it's quite pricey.
Cheeky question but did you manage to negotiate any discount from list price?

Went for the Charcoal (black) leather with the metal inlays.
I had originally planned to go for the matt wooden inlays, but the wife and kids thought 'it looks like grandads car'. That sealed the metal inlays!
The car I test drove had the glass roof, but I couldn't justify going for that - its £2000.
I managed to get 13% off the car, and leased it for 18 months.
Cannot wait.

Think you made the right choice. That wood would suit a cream interior. At 1818 MYOB said:

Thanks for the info, Bristol.
Charcoal does look good... I'm just too tempted by the Nordic feel of the cream leather and wood :-)
Sounds like a decent discount! Please report back on how it is to live with.
We just bought an XC90 with a light interior (despite 2x under 5 kids ). It's a very, very lovely place to sit.Charcoal does look good... I'm just too tempted by the Nordic feel of the cream leather and wood :-)

Ours has dark wood inlays - we had metal ones in our old XC90. They're OK, and do look good with a darker interior, but we wanted a change and couldn't be happier.
Ours also has the sunroof - I'd say it's definitely worth the money! If it's anything like the XC90 you can get a pack with other stuff on top of the sunroof which makes it better value. The extra light lifts the interior, which I would think would be doubly so with dark leather.
If the Inscription doesn't come with it (it might), get the nappa soft leather too.
Volvo really have upped their game with these new cars (and we always loved our mk1 XC90).
