Volvo D5 Euro3 - German environmental stickers?
Discussion
Hi chaps,
Can anyone tell me definitively whether my 2005 Volvo S60 D5 163 ps with the Euro3 engine (so no DPF) will qualify for a green or orange German Umweltplakette (= emissions-based environmental sticker)?
I need to drive to Deutschland on business and am a little concerned I won't actually be able to drive it my destination city withoutsome jiggery-pokery retrofitting a DPF, dumping the car on the outskirts and taking a taxi, or buying a new car to help Frau Merkel forget her memories of Wartburgs/Barkas.
I read somewhere that the green sticker requirement was 130 g/km of CO2 - as far as I know the 2005-2009 Euro4 D5 engines don't even meet this?
What has this meant for German drivers? Does nobody really drive a Trabi in East Berlin anymore? Or, heaven forbid, an 11 year old Volvo?
