Fan thermostat

Hi, just fitted a 240 radiator to my kit car, can someone please tell me if the fan thermostat is fitted to the top rhs of the rad ? I'm having to buy a new fan so thinking of having it controlled automatically + override switch

I thought most 240s had a viscous fan?

They also fit the 940 up until 1998, I assume by then they would be using electric fans ?
I suppose any new radiator will be made to latest spec and include the sensor fitting, if it actually is one.

I don't know for sure if this is the case It's all guesswork, hence the reason for my question
