Hi guys,

I bought an S80 D5 SE Lux auto last night. The car is a 2005.

The car has a few little niggles and I'd also like to know a few things as well

1) the radio doesn't pick up medium wave very well. Is there anything I can check for this?
2) can I get anything to work with an ipod in the car?
3) I know it's been done to death, and a search hasn't helped. What oil should I be using and where should I get it from?

Thanks.

I can answer 2..

Get a GROM unit, it emulates the cd changer and will allow either an aux input/iPhone input or Bluetooth steaming depending on which version you buy.

I had a look on the Grom site, they do not seem to list any compatible units for my car.

Personally, Oil wise, I'd go with Shell Helix Utra A5/B5 0W-30 - make sure it is compatible with DPF i.e. low ash content if the car is a euro4 or above (generally 2004 onward)

Not being funny, but do people actually listen to medium wave any more, and if so what?

In which case , stick with the above - alternatively if you want save some money then HELIX HX7 10w 40 would do the job but I'd change it every 6-8k if the car is mega high mileage it might be better to run slightly thicker oil than 0w 30

The last four oil changes in mine I've used Euro Car parts own fully synthetic 5w30. The engine is as sweet as can be on it and it's the Euro III same as yours. I buy it in 20l drums and would recommend it without reservation.

It's also at a price point that you can change it more frequently which I think can never be a bad thing.

Talksport, Radio 5 Sports when they have football on as well

Car is on 107k so not high. Tbh I was just going to chuck it at national tyres to get a change done as it is pretty cheap and hardly seems worth my getting dirty over lol

Ok, you sort of just assume that everything is FM these days.
