Hi All,
Just doing my homework prior to poss purchase of a volv0 v70.
Was wondering if the powered seats in the se lux added anything extra apart from convenience?
Do they make the seat more adjustable or add any features other than convenience?
Cheers!

Nothing extra... Just the convenience. You can also programme personal settings for both fobs... Which is handy if 2 people drive the same vehicle.

They are slow, heavy and a complete waste of time - I hate the Electric seats in my C70 - quicker and easier to pull a lever

Conversely I love power seats in my V70, XC60 and Mk2 C70 and wouldn't be without them. I've not had a daily driver without power seats for years, it makes it much more convenient to make small adjustments over long journeys to keep yourself comfortable. All the controls fall easily to hand in one place to tweak the position, no trying to jam your hand down the side to turn a stiff wheel for rake or trying to move the seat one "click" front or back while pulling the lever up and also watching the road. On the rare occasions that I'm a passenger in the V70 with it's manual seat I'm reminded of how much easier it is to adjust the power seat.

They are a bit of a PITA when moving the seat forward in the C70 to get in the back but superior in ever single way to the manual passenger seat in the V70. You don't get any different adjustments as such but it's so much easier to make fine adjustments, particularly to the seat base front or back up/down adjustments. Trying to do that on a manual seat while driving can see you all over the place.

I do seem to recall that on the Mk1 C70 they were particularly lethargic in action and inclined to break too, which might have put the previous poster off them a little bit hehe

While they may be heavy (and bloody hell they really, really are), I find it hard to give a stuff about that in a 1700KG Volvo, I see absolutely no reason in the universe why you'd want a manual seat in preference in a V70.

Same here in my S80. The ability to make very small adjustments with a finger is worth the extra. I'd not be without them now.
