Picked up last night, only ebay pictures at the moment, drives nicely but needs the tracking doing I think (hope it's just that) which would make sense given the kerbing evidenced on the front wheels...

A mere 123,000 miles covered. Turns out it has the Four-C suspension, it appears to be working fine so hopefully that isn't a ticking time bomb!

Wafted into work in heated bottom comfort today, curious to see what consumption is like, the computer seems optimistic given how the fuel gauge has moved since picking it up, time will tell smile

I just had the dampers on my '08 C70 replaced by a Volvo specialist and we were discussing the 4C system. He had a customer who didn't know he even had it, but was pretty appaled when he needed new dampers at £400 each!

I think I'd actively avoid used cars with that option, but I'm sure you'll be fine ;-)

Are those 18" wheels?

I thought the 4C system was only found on V70R's.

The shocks can be replaced for much less money. If they are needed google is your friend.

nice looking car...how much did you pay for it?...I am loosely looking at another V70 if my 1999 "dies" on me, and it is nice to know what they are fetching

what is the "four c" suspension? is it self levelling?

Reader's car thread here thumbup

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I payed £2,350, but they're available from about £1,000.

It is Volvo's electrically adjustable suspension, so you can have the dampers in normal 'comfort' mode, or in 'Sport' mode, which noticeably cuts down the body roll should you be that way inclined smile

What is it really? Probably a ticking time bomb, although you can buy replacements direct from Monroe now, so even if all 4 needed replacing it's "only" ~£1,000, whereas getting them from Volvo is significantly more...
