XC60 D3 - anyone familiar with this engine?
Discussion
Just after some advice (car is a 2011 vehicle).
We had a service done a couple of months back at a main dealer. During the service they identified that there was a problem with the turbo (a hose had come off or perished I believe). They fixed that no problem.
Fast forward to last week - car which has done maybe a few hundred miles since the service, conks out with little warning - all electrics dead. After inspection - the alternator belt is hanging loose, although looks essentially brand new and total intact.
My question is - is it possible or even likely that the alternator belt was removed (and subsequently not refitted properly if at all) either during the service - or in order to access the turbo to effect repairs upon it?
Would we have noticed before now if that was the case (i.e. would the car do a few hundred miles without a functioning alternator belt). What are the chances that an alternator belt in otherwise good condition would just jump off?
