Volvo V50 Cd Player Woes
Discussion
The CD changer (in dash) in my Volvo V50 has decided to pack up. I have sourced a replacement from a breakers but I have been told that I would need to get the "MOST" software removed / updated in order for the replacement auto changer to work.
I have also been told that this is something that Volvo dealers are not willing to do as they prefer to fit a brand new replacement at about £1000 which is out of the question...
Does anyone have any experience of replacing the stereo in Volvos?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

It might well work. I disconnected my cd player out the dash to fit an in line Ipod kit and refitted it. Long story, but I needed to reset the car after refitting due to forgetting to reconnect the air bag switch. Mates computer recognised from the car that I had disconnected the cd player and reset it. You might just need to find someone with Vida , which can interrogate the car and reset any changes. I am not certain on this, but sure that's all you will need.

Out of interest which Ipod kit did you fit. I had a look online and couldn't find one that would be compatible with my stereo (6cd in dash)Gassing Station | Volvo & Polestar | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
