P2 V70 MOT Fail.
Discussion
So my car failed on a few points. Most notably the Abs light in conjunction with the Anti skid service required message.
Any ideas before I throw 40 quid at getting the codes read. I've seen the clock spring could be at fault.
Any chance it's linked to the alarm system fault? Both messages appeared on the same day.
Finally if anyone has access to Vadis in the doncaster area that would be appreciated.

Chances are, the ABS fault is a sensor or reluctor ring on one of the wheels (usually the front).Any ideas before I throw 40 quid at getting the codes read. I've seen the clock spring could be at fault.

The alarm fault is normal on a P2 and you're lucky it's lasted this long. It's not related to the ABS.
You'll need Vida/Dice for full diagnosis, Vadis is the old software and not overly clever.
ABS modules play up on them and can be repaired, its usually a dry solder joint, but they will cause all manner of other issues too so I would agree with martin and be checking the sensors and reluctor rings first - The rings can corrode badly but they also crack which means a decent reading can't be taken from them - I have cured some by simply cleaning the muck off the sensor and the ring with some brake cleaner
