Drivers Foot Well Light '98 V70
Discussion
I'm hoping one of you guys can help me with a little electrical issue. My drivers side foot well light is not always turning off when I shut the door, it normally takes about 5-10 attempts for it to go off. Okay slightly annoying but I can live with it, then last week it would come on whenever I hit a pothole, speed bump or any uneven bit of road which is basically every road here. Now it has decided to come on by itself, as in I left it last night with everything off and I've just walked past it and it's on! I'm going to get my local garage to check it out when I have all my brakes done but that won't be for a couple of weeks, for now is there a fuse or anything I can disconnect to keep it off permanently as I don't want it to drain my battery.
Any tips and advice welcome!

That'll be a microswitch in the door lock unit, it is repairable, very common fault. Have a search on the Volvo owners club forum for microswitches on the first shape V70s.
This ^^^My C70's passenger door has died in this respect recently as none of the lights are working when its opened - as already said its an easy fix - sometimes they just need a lube up too.......Or just take the bulb out......
