XC60 discounts
Discussion
Hi
Am looking at buying a XC60. Has anyone got any first hand experience of good discounting. Drive the Deal suggests around 20% which means they can't be that easy to sell - I guess the Evoque has put it in it's place but I really do like the XC60 more. What do you think the best % discount is that I can achieve?
Thanks

As part of their desparate strategy to be seen and accepted as a 'premium' brand Volvo are pricing their cars above the level that the market generally accepts. No problem though as dealers will offer massive discounts to shift the metal.

I've worked out that overpaying the loan (which is the depreciation only), if you can, by the full amount with the initial payment means you avoid interest altogether & are only stumping up the depreciation up front. The balance (GTV) is effectively financed at 0% by the manufacturer. At the end of the term, you can still choose whether to buy, trade in or walk away depending on how the GTV stacks up against actual value.
Now I just need to choose the XC60 or the Evoque - both cars have their advantages & it's not a clear cut decision for me

I went into dealer yesterday to look at xc60 r design as the lease on them is not to bad, the dealer told me that they don't have one and orders are now foe September delivery, you can get an SE now.
Is that true? Is the r design in such demand that it is a 5 month wait ?
The D4 181 engine is the reason for the slow delivery. Out performed expectation and supply now catching up with demand. Is that true? Is the r design in such demand that it is a 5 month wait ?
SE, SELUX or R Design making very little difference to delivery dates.

I ordered my wife an XC60 R design (180bhp) but on a personal lease as im fed up of wasting money on depreciating assets.
