l may as well start off & get my rant 'out' there. l bought SWMBO a lovely 54 plate S60 D5 with split rim 18 inch Volvo OEM alloys....got the wheels fully refurb'd & Mrs C gets forced off the road out in the sticks in the dark tonight & l now have a wheel finish like a cheese grater has visited that makes me wonder why l didn't just sell the refurb'd wheels straight on & get some 17s!

It's a great car & the wheels 'were' great...lf anyone asks about 40 profile tyres, think twice. Oh, & a big thanks to the WVM who showed his lack of respect to other road users furious

It`ll ride better on 17`s and your turning circle may improve a little too.
Mines on 17`s, the roads round where I live are ste.

My last S60 was on 16`s and it rode even better.
18`s look the business but compromise the ride too much imo.

If it's comfort you want, go for 17" and 50 profile 225 tyres like they used on the S80. Super comfy smile

I have a tidy set of 17" sparkly black Amelthea wheels I'd be prepared to swap for your damaged set biggrin

If you swop to 17's don't forget to swop over the lock stops that are bolted to the wishbones !

They come in different sizes for the rim sizes then the ride and turning circle will be a lot better....

Those are for wheel width mate, not circumference.

Black is 225mm or above, blue is 215 and white is for 205 iirc.

Thats right mate, the width changes with circumference smile on the standard rims, last time i looked a few years ago on the parts listing it mentioned different locks stops for 17' and 18' rims...

so looking at that it looks like circumference is the deciding factor ?

Either way,if downsizing from 18' to 17' rims the correct lock stops fitted will greatly improve the turning circle, your local friendly dealer will be able to help...

It's funny how some sparkly paint can transform probably the dullest wheels ever to be put on a volvo, into something "sporty" looking. Someone even said "I bet those Ferrari wheels cost a bomb?" (I have yellow prancing moose center caps) lol.

Loving the remap mate, all the other mods have been leading up to the map and by hell they've paid off smile
