Looking at a V70 - is this price high?
Discussion
I am thinking about a V70 for my next car.
There is a car dealer near to me selling an '04 model D5 SE with 103k on the clock.
It has full SH, looks like the premium audio, ruby red with heated cream leather. Towbar/electrics, etc.
It ticks all the boxes but is up for £4995 - is this a bit high for the year/condition?
thanks for any pointers.

First of all, make sure the speedo has chrome rings round the dials, if not walk away (google volvo DIM problems).
If you take a test drive, listen for knocks when cornering at low speed and look for the usual smoky start and when pulling away. Also listen/feel for vibration from the DMF. Ask when the clutch and DMF were changed as they are really expensive.
Seems about a grand overpriced but if it's in really good nick, worth a punt (I'd still look to have at least £500 knocked off it tho)

He just replied!
Timing belt & tensioners replaced by Parks Volvo in Ayr in May 2013 @89,524 miles.
Many receipts & invoices but nothing relating to clutch, flywheel or handbrake shoes.
The dealer used to work for Volvo amongst others, and drives a V70 D5 himself at 150k miles which is on original clutch and flywheel and he said the handbrake shoes would only get replaced if material was to deteriorate - is this the lamination folk talk about re these?
He says everything works, all electrics, etc.
