The discs on my s70 2.5 t are getting warn and one has a slight warp and I was thinking of upping them from 288mm to 302mm and police spec pads .
Anybody done this ?
Did it make much difference?
Any other cost effective options ?

Yes on a early T5, you need the caliper mounts to suit the 302mm disks.
Makes a good difference, i had goodridge line fitted at the same time.

Standard disks are the best to use, with matching pads.
Mintex disk warped in a few months, so got black diamond they lasted 2 years with red stuff pads.

After them I went back to standard disks, they are still on it now.

This is what I had heard, the car has some upgrades, rica chip, strut brace, KN filter, crystal lights (very expensive, only available for a year on coupes) HIDs ,but the brakes are bog standard, so when 'making progress ' braking requires some planning.

The 302 setup will make a big difference, if you're on a budget go for Brembo disks and mintex pads.

There's also the option of fitting 320mm disks, brembo 4-pots from a megane 225 with custom brackets... food for thought.

Well worth doing - the smaller discs are notorious for overheating and warping - esp on a turbo car - I'd buy salvage calipers as the fronts can easily be stripped and refurbished - 300quid would prob buy a complete but ultimately shagged C70 T5 which would have all the required parts you need - plus many extras!

The rear brakes on these cars tend to be overlooked somewhat.

Although they don't contribute as much as those at the front it is often quite staggering how much they have been neglected over time.

Well worth spending some time on them.

Every c70 bought to me by a customer that has bought it second hand has had seized rear calipers on them - trouble is with the Volvos even when they are seized people assume they are not because quite often the piston pushes back when they are cold - its only whne the heat up that they stop working.

I was lucky as mine had new rear brakes just prior to my ownership.
Hope to fit the new bits and give it the once over prior to mot in dec and its pre-winter valet .
