New Volvo V40 D2 experiences?

Tossing up between a Golf Mk7 1.6 TDi or a Volvo V40 D2 to buy new. Cracking deals finance wise on the R Design but I do 150 miles a day and need a reliable economical car. I have used a Mk6 VW Golf 1.6 Tdi for three years without a hitch at an average 58.6 mpg. What could I expect from the V40 D2?

For covering a lot of miles, you won't beat the Volvo for comfort. My mum has a Focus estate, which is basically a V40 with crap interior and it's really nice on the road.
From what I've heard, the D2 engine is frugal but punchy enough for motorway driving. The interior is lovely too.
