V70 needs new Discs & Pads
Discussion
As above, if a P2 shape car, absolutely yes.
You'll never wear out the lining of the handbrake shoes over the life of the car unless handbrake turns are your thing - but the handbrake shoes' linings delaminate from the shoes and the bits rattle about in the hub making nasty noises along with weird handbrake behaviour. If ingnored it will jam the hub and destroy the casting - ££££ as well as potentially dangerous when the hub locks up. Well documented and commnon V70 issue.
The handbrake shoes on my 2006 V70 delaminated and started making nasty grinding noises at about 4 years/50,000 miles - about a year after the rear discs had been replaced. Irritatingly this cost me an hour's labour to remove and refit the nearly new disks in order to replace the handbrake shoes, for what would have been a trivial job if it had been done at the time the discs were replaced.
