Ive finally got a bit of money together to get an s60. Not sure whether to go for a lower mileage petrol or a diesel which will have double the mileage.itll be the wife's car and she does about 8k miles a year.
Are the diesels that much better on fuel and nicer to drive to compensate for higher mileage and servicing.
The mrs would like an auto and having read so much bad info on them is making me wonder if I should go for a much lower 2.0t petrol .some advice would be great please

At 8k a year, I wouldn't normally consider a diesel. Maybe worth doing the maths, though.

Just seems that the diesels are a bit quicker with more torque.
Had a Saab 9-5 aero and didnt really like the turbo side of it. Hoping that I could be lazier with torque of the diesel, bit like the way iam with my 528 I suppose
