Due to not being able to find a diesel without huge mileage on,I've started looking at the 2.0 petrol turbo.
Anyone have any advice on them.also what are they like on fuel

which car? The old S70/C70 2.0T and the newer S60/S80 2.0T are not the same engine.

I've got two S60 2.0T's and also a C70 T5. For every day driving, the performance difference is minimal. Both the S60's are manual. They are smooth, comfortable and average about 35 mpg for commuting.

When you say commuting does that mean around town. Do you think theres much difference between an auto and a manual

Autos are normally much, much thirstier around town but a lot less work. I was impressed with the 2.0t when I tried it.

I had an S80 2.0T manual and was getting high 20's locally and mid 30's on a run. I do live in the Pennines though so it's very hilly and I never get great economy. I now have an S80 D5 Auto (163bhp, euro 3) and get high 30's locally and 50 ish on a run.

Does that help?

I'm a 07 s60 2.0t manual owner.. I think this is a great engine, good performance if required, mpg not to bad.. My traffic jam commute is 33mpg over 40 on motorway run. Engine is smooth as silk. I came from Audi diesel and bar mpg this is far better, Audi higher mpg on run, not much more on commute.

Looks like itll be a high mileage diesel or lower mileage petrol.
Judging by what ive read about the autos i think a lower mikeage one might be best.
Whats the pistonheaders thoughts
