I am 24 years old, I've been driving mainly German cars like Audi, VW, VW being my 2nd car and did a lot of mod/s to it. Since then I've sold the VW, and started looking for cars with a budget of £7000. In that price range I could not find a decent german car with a decent spec like, xenons, heated leather seats, sat nav, parking sensors.

Back of my mind this Volvo kept on bugging me, which I tried to ignore but couldn't resist due to the roaring engine noise.

So...I came across this....

Spec follows,

2.4 D5
Xenons
White leather heated seats
Sat Nav
Rear parking sensors
18" Medusa wheels
Sunroof
45K miles
Geartronic
Paid £6800....

To me this car ticked all the right boxes, I saw it I bought it....Well chuffed biggrin But every now and again I keep thinking to myself if I've bought the right car or not?
Others say "its a Grandads car", and some take the piss saying "taking the children out somewhere"?

What are your views on this?

This made me feel a bit down when I hear these kind of comments frown .....But now I am planning to do this to my car biggrin

I don't want to hear these kind of depressing comments ever again! Hopefully I will be doing this to my car during the year, or in the summer.

Who cares what anyone else thinks or says?

As long as you are happy with it, then job done.

You are not alone wink

Although slamming it is not my cuppa.

I love the car to bits, love the handling and pretty much every single thing about this car. I guess not much people know about the D5 engine, and how it goes when you open the taps. Volvo's are underestimated!

The only reason I wanna slam it down, cause when I will fit these BBS 19" wheels it will look awkward on standard springs, and will be able to fit a whole leg between the gap.

Still.....makes me wonder scratchchin

There are a lot of sheep that purport to be motorists - just look at the number of Audis around. boxedin

Volvo is a funny brand and those that think it a mature persons car are out of touch.

Just read the recent posts over the Polestar cars or the increasing love on PH over the S60 D5.

I come from the era of fast Fords, then breathed upon Japanese, followed by V70 T5's, whilst recently going over to Mercedes Benz (eg bought an E Class to replace my S60 but have not parted with the latter as it such a good commuter car).

Liking your car. Prefer dark colours with either black or light interiors and some bling. yes

Love the fact that you want to slam it.

Also check out a company called Shark who do interesting things with these cars.

In my opinion, most modern Audi;s are boring to drive, and all have the same design. It's too highly over rated, all show no go on TDI's.
I was looking at the 850 R design today, and was completely amazed as what it can do! 175 mph, 200+ BHP that is ridiculously quick. Volvo 850 BTCC on Pistonheads, made me feel proud that I'm the owner of a Volvo smile that put a smile on my face smile I saw the video of Chris Harris on Polestar S60, and Polestar C30 with Jay Leno.

I've been in touch with Shark90, he too owns V50 D5 R design and done a few mods like, Milltek, Intercooler, remap and other bits. I will be going to him to do stage 1 or 2 upgrade.

Thanks for the compliment, I think black and chrome will go together, and that S60 has given me one heck of a inspiration.....Best looking car I've ever seen! lol biggrin
I will be slammin it, if I have efficient funds to do so. Hopefully these mods will be done, and I will write up a build thread on this forum.
