Hi guys, question. The wiper on the drivers side occasionally makes contact with the vertical section of the car where the windscreen joins.

The point of contact is the end of the wiper arm, this occurs at the end of the sweep to the right before it sweeps left again.

Knowing not much about cars, do I assume the wiper assy has a spline on, and I could pull it off the bit is attached to and retatch a notch further round?

This is intermittent but annoying when driving a distance in rain.

It should be splined, but be carefull as they can rust on and forcing it will damage the mechanism.

Maybe you bent the wiper arm clearing snow?

Thanks for that, it's been doing this for some time. When it snows, I am always particular to clear the screen first before using the wipers.

I'll try to remove it see what happens.

I have a C70 (2000) which did that. I donn't know if the S80 is the same but at the base of the wiper arm there is a small plastic cover over the splines. That popped off with a small screwdriver which revealed a nut holding on the wiper arm. undo that, line up the wiper and put it back together. Took about five minutes which annoyed me as I'd put up with it for months!
