Strut brace, how much does it tighten up the handling? Does it possibly even lessen the wear on front tyres? As I understand it there are differences between LHD and RHD braces? Any recommendations on what make to go for, the original Volvo one? Or if anyone has one for sale?

OBD2, anyone use the Bluetooth dongles from Ebay and the Torque app for Android? Can the centre armrest be clipped into place with the dongle in the port, on a first gen x70 with the port right under the armrest? Does the app work well on a first gen x70?

Mine is a 1998 C70 T5 RHD.

The strut brace stops flexing of the chassis and will help with turn in and tram lining. It wont have an impact on tyre wear. For a RHD, get a standard one second hand for £50ish.

Excellent, reduced tramlining is a real bonus.

I always fit genuine Volvo strut braces to my C70's. They always make the car feel more precise.

Off to ebay to search for a genuine Volvo strut brace then. They are around £170 in Sweden while on ebay they go for £60-70, naturally the ebay sellers won't post to Sweden though... mad

Have a look at Item number: 270954048646. I always buy my braces there.

Finally got the strut brace installed, and gosh what a difference it makes! The car feels much more planted through turnings, the steering feels faster and overall the car feels much tighter.

Have a look at powerflex bushes for the front wishbones. You won't believe the difference it makes for such a small price.
