Hi

I am now the owner of a 2012 XC90, which is nice. It is a great car for the money and the best 7 seater IMO.

I have four questions other owners might be able to answer:

1 - below the light switch there is a rear fog light switch and next to it another switch with a low beam and an 'A'. I cannot find where in the manual it is described, is it the front fog lights and the manual is not up to date with the latest button graphics?

2 - I've noticed making hard turns at very low speed often results in the front wheels slipping. Is this due to the 90/10 front drive bias and a characteristic of the vehicle? There tyres have plenty of tread.

3 - the car has the active bending lights. The manual describes them as xenon if so. But the manual also says that if xenon s are fitted they are self levelling. But I have a headlight levelling control so am confused.

4 - One other thing, I have noticed a buzzing noise from the area generally around the drivers A pillar when the engine is generating more vibration than usual (under load) and when on some road surfaces. Is this something anyone else has had? I am wondering if it is being caused by the clear plastic clip volvo have fitted to the A pillar?

Any help greatly appreciated..

My XC90 dates back to 2005, but I doubt that much has changed since then.

1. On mine, the front and rear fog lights are next to each other in the location you mention. I suppose you just need to press the mystery button and see what happens.

2. I think you will find the bias to be 100% to the front - the rear wheels are only driven when the fronts slip.

4. Mine doesn't do this.

Just my thoughts

1 - The only buttons our 2010 model has there are the front and rear fog lights

2 - Yep, same as ours. I also understand it is a 90/10 split unless needed

3 - If it is bending lights then they will be xenons and they will be self levelling. There is also a switch in the centre console that can switch off the bending function. Also, when you start up you should see you lights dipping and then levelling again. The dial by the light switch is to adjust the brightness of the dashboard, if they weren't self levelling there would be 2 dials.

4 - Never noticed this on mine.

Hope this helps

Cheers, David
