V70 Rear tyre wear
Discussion
I recently switched to winter tyres on my Volvo V50 T5 and noticed the same thing with the summer tyres. The rears were well worn on the inside edges. When the winter tyres were fitted I asked for a full alignment and everything was within spec.
It seems to me that Volvo's are set up with high amounts of negative rear camber to cause a safe, understeer characteristic to the handling. I'm not sure about the V70, but for the V50 there is no way of changing the camber without using aftermarket parts that offer the required adjustability.

Thanks Guys, the car is a P2 and no associated noises. There doesn't sound like an obvious answer and Volvo themselves didn't throw any light on it so I'll probably live with it as the rest of the tyre was reasonably well worn anyway.
So, not really a problem after all? Out of interest, how many miles did you get out of them, and what were they? The rear tyres on my 2004 T5 seem to be lasting forever. They are some awful ditchfinders and I left them on thinking they'd die soon enough. 25,000 miles later they seem to have worn 2mm. I think they are made of UPVC. I have actually had the arse come out on wet roundabouts at modest speeds in a FWD Volvo estate, so they really are awful. Suppose I should sort it out really...
