Earthing Fault

Hi guys

quick question - got a prob with my C70 at the moment that I have yet to come across in another car.

Symptoms are ABS and braking warning light illuminate, Gearbox starts shifting strangely and the speedo dies, I'm 99% sure its an earth fault and the fault is causing the car to earth through the dashboard namely the speedo and poss the gearbox. I will be changing the main earths on the chassis and gearbox when I get a spare 5 mins but I wondered if anyone knew where the ECU earths to and which pin the earth runs off?

Yep its fine - I've found the earth now - under the front headlight if anyone needs to know

I'd be curious to know if this fixes the problem. I've had the same issue twice on my S40 - but the errors have literally only flashed up for a second. Just enough time for me to see them and read the message then clears itself.

Well today I had some spare time so I fitted a couple of additional earth points to try and cure it so I'll let you know if it worked - if it does I'll write up a "how to" guide for you

Just had similar symptoms with my wife's Focus Mk2.

Fitting three additional new grounding points and replacing the plug to the alternator with hard wiring have (so far) cured it.
