V/XC 70 water ingress mystery
Discussion
On my '55 reg XC70, after standing out in heavy rain, when I open the driver's door, water runs out as if from inside the door seal. Running my finger along the door seal at the bottom drives more water out, so it is as if water is getting inside the door seal. There's no water inside the car and looking all round the door seal higher up, it all seems dry and there's no obvious hole in the door seal to account for how the water gets into it. All the other doors are fine. Has anyone else experienced this or got any ideas what's going on?

Bottom drain holes in door blocked?
The drain holes are clear and clean and when I open the door its paintwork is dry up to the rubber seal. It is the seal that seems to have water in it and possibly above it, on opening the door water runs down off the plastic sill area and the door above the seal is wet.TooLateForAName said:
water getting into the door through the seal at the bottom of the window?
Those seals are fine, and anyway, if water was getting in there wouldn't it come out through the drain holes. The trouble is water doesn't need a big hole to get through, it must be getting in somewhere along the seal at the top of the door but I can't fathom how it gets from there to inside the tubular seal and and above it at the bottom.
