Hi guys, I'm sure this has been hammered to death before but I can't find a definitive answer so help would be appreciated.

I have an old '52 plate S60 with a built in car-phone everything else works fine Sat Nav included.

Has anyone successfully managed to get their built in car phone working and if so which SIM card did you buy/use? - so far I have tried three different ones.

I've read several forums and also talked to the phone providers so I think I get the gist of the problem but I need a definitive answer from someone who has actually bought the correct UK SIM.

Thanks for your help...in anticipation (eager! lol!)smile

Thanks Daphantom, thats exactly what I did but still no go frown

I've tried 3, Vodaphone, 02 and Tesco PAYG.

You would have thought with that range, the logic would point to the phone being at fault but I'm not convinced. The phone appears to recognise that there is a sim and searches "waiting for connnection" or something similar but I've normally fallen asleep in the time I'm waiting for it to connect.

Your way of working is exactly how I used to run my Jag's phone.

Thank you anyway smile

I've used Orange and Vodafone SIMS in mine with no problem. You might have a problem with the antenna connections somewhere along the line perhaps? Has anyone been rummaging around in the dash upgrading the stereo or similar? From my experience 80% of used cars seem to have had some dhead bodging things up with the electrics at some point, even if it's just a cack handed stereo "upgrade".
