Last time I looked into this, my Volvo was too old.

I was just reading the article about the special edition S60 that Polestar have made. After clicking a few links, I ended up on this page..... http://www.polestar.se/en-gb/models/v70-d5-fwd-automatic-2007/

No idea on price at the moment but I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this? As should be evident from the link above, I have a 2007 V70 D5 (185). I've had it from new and so the idea of giving it a bit of extra pep appeals...just to change the feel of it a bit.
My main issue is that should I be worried about it breaking bits on my car due to the extra strain it's putting on it? My main issues would be the auto/geartronic gearbox. I know it might cost a bit more than other options but then hope that would be balanced against it being an approved Volvo fitment.

I should point out I've had a chipped/tuned car in the past and found the improvement in performance well worth the cost. That was on a 1 year old car though...not one that's nearly 5 years old.

Any ideas or thoughts on whether this is a good/bad idea would be much appreciated.

Do it!! thumbup

It makes a lot of difference to the overall driveability of the car, which is vastly improved with the map. You also know that it has been extensively tested by Volvo to ensure that longevity of the engine and ancillaries aren't hugely compromised.

I'm not sure what the current retail price is but the last couple of years, MRG Volvo Chippenham have done some exceptional deals on Polestar upgrades, to coincide with the Castle Combe track day which they sponsor for the High Performance Volvo Club (T5D5), so its definitely worth shopping around to see what kind of deal can be had.
