2001 V70 Sunroof - suddenly not working
Discussion
Odd, because it was working the last time I closed it, but now nothing. Motor not making any noise, fuse intact and changed just in case, still nothing.
Luckily the roof is closed, but I want it to work!
Tried doing a 'reset' from internet advice:
Key to position 2 hold front window switches in up (closing) position for 10 seconds, switch off ignition and lock/unlock twice. Sounds a bit fishy, and didn't work anyway.
Any ideas where I might start looking? Thought it might be the switch?

Brilliant!
I've been getting the 'Alarm Service Required' for a couple of months now.
So what do I need to do now? Is there a supplementary battery somewhere?
Edit: Just re-read your post, where's the siren situated and is the battery serviceable?

The siren complete with battery is in the front drivers side wheel arch behind the liner.
What usually happens is that the battery leaks and destroys the printed circuit board rendering the siren useless and causing some weird side effects such as the sunroof faults. The siren is a sealed unit and the battery isn't available although some people have managed to split the siren and use an aftermarket battery if the acid hasn't caused too much damage.
Volvo charge around £150 for a new siren.
Plenty of info on volvoforums.org.uk if you fancy having a go.
