Volvo C70 door problem

Hi all.
Was just wondering if anyone may be able to help. Have a Volvo C70 convertible (2000 model). Passenger door was working fine however out of the blue it decided not to release either from the inside or out. Managed to remove the door card and everything appears to be operating as normal. I'm guessing a a dead lock has kicked in maybe and not releasing ? Either that or the catch in the lock itself has stuck. Car is locked/unlocked by key in the drivers door (there isn't a remote). For some reason the wife isn't too keen scrambling over the drivers side to get in or out any more.
