That time of year again and took the old thing down to the MOT garage to be told nothing wrong with that there's a new MOT. 19yrs old and 230k what more could you ask for?
Pity my V70 won't do the same.

850 was the last truly tough Volvo - I've got a v70 classic and even though it is basically the same car the differences are still noticeable between it and my old 850 - certainly interior trim is worse

My P2 V70 has nearly 170,000 miles on and passed its last two MOTs with no work. Interior doesn't rattle and it's seats are wearing well. Very pleased with it.

My 740 had 320,000 miles on it when I got rid of it. It didn't fail an MOT, I just got fed up. My V70 has yet to fail, but it is only 11 years old and has only 107,000 miles on it. My 240 failed at 105,000 miles when my wife spun it and put it on its roof.

I loved my 740. It cost me £100 and lasted me three years! It even had 3 months tax and test on it when I bought it. God I loved that car! Hardly ever broke down, always passed the MOT. The only problem was the dick behind the wheel who put it through a hedge backwards!!

Now have a 940 Celebration, which I was going to run bangermonics style, but its too good for that, so ive spent a few quid on a good service, a new air con condenser and re-gas etc.

Its now a very good, very comfortable car smile Only 151,000 miles too!

NOT LISTENING!

Purchased my 850 along similar lines: use, abuse, dispose, reclaim fair chunk of purchase price in scrap. Sorted.

I love the old girl frown Full "fix it at any cost" service last month. Now weighing up the costs of getting the a/c evaporator replaced (big job), the wheels tidied up etc, etc. Curses!
