Anyone any recomendations please ?

Need my V70 serviced along with front wheel bearing.

As an aside , my radio has stopped playing anything on AM , seems to be a known problem on the latest style cars , quote from Volvo for exchange unit .....£720.

You buy an exchange unit , then have to pay £40 for the software to make it work in the car !

I have a warranty that would cover £500 on ICE but still cant bringmyself to chip in another 200 to listen to the cricket.

It would be well worth giving MRG Volvo in Chippenham (01249 443300) a call and speak to their service manager Simon Chiu. They have an excellent reputation and are frequently more cost effective than even some Volvo independents, plus they will have access to everything relating to the car. They also have had dealings with a company which could repair the radios in the later cars so again well worth asking. For feedback on MRG, have a look at the T5D5 forum (www.t5d5.org) where a fair few of us with tuned Volvos congregate; some of our members drive from as far as Watford and Nottingham, to MRG, and still save money on the work done.

Try Sharpe's Autos in Newbury. Apparently they have a very experienced ex main dealer Volvo mechanic there and they may be able to help.

A friend of mine recently had a good experience with them on his V70 D (after a blatantly wrong diagnosis elsewhere) and will be using them again.

Thanks folks , didnt want to drive too far.....

Ended up using Martin Mathewson near Basingstoke , seemed ok guys.

I thought I had a wheel bearing on its way , but has ended up being the bearings on the ac / power steering pump.

Just waiting for some prices but the unit seems to be £700 + !
