Hi,

This is my Dads one owner from new Volvo 240. Its sat in the garage for over 16 years when he started getting company cars and has been turned over evey now and then. Its got to the point where its obvious it wont be used by the family again as its not really of interest.

This isnt a classified ad, but advise on what to do with it... it has to go really but I dont have the heart to put it in the scrap yard, surely there is a collector or someone who could restore it for their own profit?

Is there a classic volvo enthusiasts club who could take it on as a doner car for refurb?......

Shes a beast, 118,000 miles, automatic, reg no VPR316S. All docs, history, from when it was on the road. Seems a shame to go down the stadard ebay route...would only require the usual changes after long standing and perhaps some welding.

Thanks in advance!

Hello

Have you decided what you're doing with the 240? Is it for sale?

Worth saving

How much are you asking?

How rotten is it?

Hi thanks for the response, sorry for delay I've been quite busy with work. I am stumped on a price as I haven't been able to find anything similar to go by. Feel free to pm me with any offers and I can discuss them with my dad.

It has been sat in a dry garage all this time but I am assuming it will have structural rust, I haven't had a qualified eye check this, there is some rust round one of the arches and several blemishes on the surface all over the car.

We would prefer she went to a home where she was being restored as opposed to being torn apart for parts as I have read the parts of this vintage are hard to come by so I can see why someone would want to do this.

Thanks, Dave

Unless it was properly ruined body wise (which I doubt) you could of got a hell of a lot more for a glt - they are fast becoming a collectors car
I'd of given you 300!

Body was mint and so was the full leather, just needed some small jobs to get it on the road, tyres, exhaust etc. Didn't have the time to do it, it had got in the way for last 12 months! I posted some pictures last year. I wish I had known there was interest in it, as I would rather have sold it.
