Disabling BLIS on a MY12 V70 - help please
Discussion
Hi – anyone here with a MY12 Volvo equipped with BLIS? If so can you tell me how to fully disable it? I just took delivery of a new V70 SE D5 and it is so equipped, along with all manner of gadgets to wake you up when you fall asleep and drift across lanes on a motorway etc. Plus some gadget that seems to make four orange LEDs glow in a head-up display style onto the windscreen when you go above 40mph – scary stuff! If Volvo drivers don’t know they are going over 40mph then heaven help us. I am told it’s all for American market so perhaps that’s a clue!
Anyway, I’ve managed to switch off most of the unnecessary stuff via the menu settings on the centre console but I’m buggered if I can turn off BLIS! There’s obviously a button which you can use, depress that and you get a message to tell you’ve turned off BLIS – guess what I know that – then you can cancel the message buy pressing the end of the indicator stalk. I can also turn off BLIS via the menu settings but as soon as I restart the car for another journey it all comes back on again.
So my question is simply how do I fully disable it? And in case you are wondering I find the orange lamps flashing at the base of each mirror (different orange lamps to the head-up display ones) distracting. If the mirrors are adjusted properly you can see fine.

Hi Rich,
Not sure if it can be disabled (I have this on my S60).
I noticed it all the time for the first few weeks, but don't notice it any more. You will get used to it.
I agree though that you can see everything you need to out of the mirrors, so this is not really needed.
Sorry I couldn't help, but thought you may find some reassurance useful !!!
