Sheffield & Meredith, Leicester

I went there last week with my new to me 2001 v40. It hadn't been serviced for 2 years so I asked them to have a real close look for anything that needs doing and to give it a thorough service.
They spotted one of the front springs was snapped so they changed that after speaking to me, to do that and the service they charged me £220 which I thought was pretty good.
They identified a few other bits that need doing (standard v40 stuff) but theres no real rush to do them and I wasn't put under any pressure to get them done.
I did a bit of research on the net before I took the car and I could ny find positive reviews.
While I own a Volvo they will be looking after it for me. It's a massive bonus that they are less than 5 minutes walk from my office too.

ha ha ha, sorry, been busy...they were very good. Full service, aircon regas and fixed a few niggly bits I hadn't got round to, list of advisories as well, which I'll probably get them to do at some point. Les than £250 asll in which was pleasing as the other indie I was going to use (in Derby, does both Swedish volume manufacturers) quoted £220 just for the service...I'll use them again for sure. Good friendly attitude. v helpful and not expensive. Thanks for the recommendation!
My parents have used Sheffield and Meredith for over 15 years for their servicing, on Volvos and other makes. They're an absolutely fantastic garage to deal with. They kept a Ford Galaxy running into its twilight years and 170+k miles.
As an example, the fan stopped working but rather than fit a new rad fan, they took it apart and re-greased the bearings, charging 20 quid, and that got it working again and lasted out the life of the car.
One of the very few garages I truly trust, and as I'm about to acquire my parents hand me down volvo I'll be taking it there for servicing - a 200 mile round trip.
