The only irritating thing about my new MY08 V50 is the headlight dip control - it needs two movements of the lever to dip the lights (pull and release). This inevitably causes a slight delay before the lights are dipped. Any idea why they wouldn't be set up to dip immediately on a pull of the lever?

I know it seems trivial, but it's annoying to dazzle oncoming drivers for that fraction of a second extra. Anyone know what I mean?!

I agree with you entirely. I found the fact you have to turn them on again to turn them off, illogical and time consuming when you want to turn them off quickly to prevent blinding, not just of the oncoming driver but also you when they get their revenge in.

In practice this just isn't an issue is it? It doesn't even trigger on the trivial level. What does it add, <1/100th of a second? Probably not even that.
