Hi all,

Ive just got a new job with a car allowance rather than company car and I will be doing about 20,000 business miles a year. Ive seen a low mileage S60 D5 Geartronic I like the look of but am hoping to get an idea of MPG.

Most of the driving should be motorway and just wondering what experiences you all have? Am I dreaming to hope to get mid 40's with the auto box?

Hope you can help.

Mike

Should be easily achievable with careful driving!

Whats more important the mpg or power?

If the mpg, get the D3 version assuming its nearly new.

Which model/engine are you looking at? I have a 2005 163bhp and OBC is showing an optimistic 55.8mpg. Brim to brim mixed driving but with motorway bias I get around 49mpg perhaps slightly more.

I suspect you may be looking at a newer model than this though? I think geartronics tend to be less frugal than manuals may be wrong on that though.

Easily achievable with the EuroIII D5 - probably not with the EuroIV unless you're very light footed.

Think the transition from EIII to EIV was around 2005.
