I have a 2003 V70 Estate which i am having problems with the Central Electronic Module and the Direct Door Module.
Does anyone know of anyone who can overhaul these as the new parts are €1400 in Ireland before labour

Very strange to have the Drivers door module and Central electronic module fail at the same time !

what problems are you having ?

Ok,the door..drivers window working sporadically, central locking working sporadically on drivers door,as you drive sometimes the central locking will close the drivers door only,an electrical fizzing sound comes from the door from time to time.
Dashboard.....stereo and digital lights on computer and milometer, trip, can fade in and out.headlight switch dosn't turn on main headlights therefore no main beam unless you pull stalk on steering column as if to flash/turn mainbeam on and hold it in that position.

I would just try the DDM first and see what happens, does it make a clicking noise when the fault appears ? these can be picked up from a scrap car.

there was problems with CEMS around that year due to water ingress from above.

worth trying a DDM first smile

The window and central locking to the drivers door either works or not(The volvo garage presently have the motor disconected.the only noise is this electrical fizzling noise from time to time which lasts about 5 seconds.
Are you sure about the DDM,Volvo told me it had to be programmed or are they just looking to sell parts ?

THE DDM can be swopped of another car without problems but might might need the window auto up calibrating, there is software to download for the DDM but they always worked without.

the CEM is a once only fit to car and requires programming.

the dealer could be right that it needs both are are they not sure and trying to cover the butt on the diagnosis.
