I've got a problem with my Volvo. It's a V70 D5 auto (on a 57 plate and is the old shape).

Got back to Bristol airport this evening and when the meet and greet guys gave me my keys back, they said it wasn't pulling very well and I should call out the AA.

The main issues seem to be.
1) When you try to accelerate, its kangarooing all over the place, like a learner driver would, but it's an auto
2) When you rev it, or try to drive it, you can air escaping or "whooshing" from under the bonnet, near (I think) the bulkhead.

I've had a text from a mechanic mate who thinks it might be problem with a turbo pipe, as its common on these volvo's. I've had the AA out and he think that could be true too. However, he plugged my car into his fault reader and it came up with P0742+ torque convertor solenoid stuck on....he think the turbo problem might be causing the gearbox problem!?

I'm currently stuck at the airport waiting for a tow truck to take me home. But am supposed to be away again, leaving at 4am on Monday morning, so anything that can help, would be much appreciated.

I should point out the car passed it's MOT fine on Monday and drove 200 odd miles down here on Tuesday morning with no issues.

The "meet and greet" guys have been kicking the st out your car from cold and a turbo pipe has popped off, that's what it sounds like to me.

Boost delivery pipe for sure. The pipe has popped off, meaning that un-metered air is being drawn in through the open inlet causing the ecu to not know what's going on. Once you've traced the hose, it'll probably be a jubilee clip and 5 minutes work before you're on your way.

Ferkle (4 tuned turbo's behind me, and plenty of popped boost pipes)

thirded on the turbo pipe, and the only one that I have ever popped was when I was on a mission and errrmm not being particularly sympathetic mechanically. paperbag

Meet and greet, airport parking, avoid avoid avoid. Never leave your keys with any of these chancers. Bit late now unfortunately.

And another for the Turbo Pipe popping off, had this a couple of times on my S40 when setting off late for work on cold mornings!

Have a look underneath, follow the air noise and you will find the hose that has popped off, probably just needs a jubilee clip slackening off and re-fitting, very surprised the AA didn't do it for you, they did on mine both times it popped off!

Thanks everyone for the help/advice. You were all correct, although sadly Mr AA man was of little help and (including having to spend 7 hours overnight at a hotel airport) it ended up taking me 18 hours to get home frown

I wish I could avoid meet and greet....I travel (to forgeign tournaments) several times a year and usually have 2 wheelchairs, racquet bag and normal luggage, so it's really the only option.
At least on this occasion I hadn't paid for it! I've used them before (Bristol Valet Parking) and they were fine. This time I got a muddy and broken car back, but with only a few miles on the clock?!

Anyway, thanks again everyone, big help and easily fixed, thankfully.

Surely there would be somewhere at the airport you can leave your baggage to collect the car to avoid meet and greet's??

I think (thanks to suicide bombers and the like) that it's very difficult to leave your luggage at an airport these days. I forgot something in my car recently (at Gatwick airport) and so after much waiting around, was eventually told that there was nowhere to leave my luggage, so had to take it all with me back to the car.
