Wifey has one of these & last week it decided to give no boost at all. After some checking of the turbo vac hoses with a boost/vac gauge it was decided the VATN actuator (what used to be an actuator for a wastegate on older turbo's) was no seeing a vacuum, which it should do to actuate.
Next in line is the solenoid unit mounted on the bulkhead, this is effectively a boost controller except it works on vacuum. This was duff/stuck/fudged. So a large syringe/ some vac hose & some pumping about frees up the stuck actuator - hey presto we have a working turbo!
