850 Estate Reverse Lights not working?

The reverse lights are not working, and yes, i've replaced both bulbs.

I know they're not essential, but it would be good if they worked!

Any ideas?

Apparenly there is a sensor on the gearbox that is prone to failure.

It has done 193,000 miles so if its prone to fail then that may well be it.

Like I say, not a big issue, might get it looked at when it goes in for a mot/service if its worth keeping on the road!
